How we price Mexican catering

Each event is quoted on its own, and the price depends on a few things:

  • The number of people
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • Food, drinks or both
  • How long we’re needed on site

Pricing depends on the event. A short lunch service for a team is a different job from a full wedding day. Your quote sets it all out.

What to tell us

We can quote more accurately with a few details. Here’s what to include:

  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • Your date and when you want service to start
  • How we drive in and where we can park
  • A picture of where we’d park

Not sure what you need yet? That’s fine: give us the basics about your event, and we will make suggestions. To start, send us your details through our quote form.

Mexican catering for your event in Fords Farm

Our truck and trailer service tends to suit around 50 to 400 guests. Larger festivals and smaller parties are looked at case by case, so tell us your numbers. For retirement and leaving parties and wedding breakfasts and evening food, we’ll put together a menu of burritos, quesadillas and loaded nachos for your guests.

A place like Fords Farm may have a hall or a club with a car park nearby; any can work, given permission and level ground to park on. Your quote sets out what’s included: menu, timings and any add-ons.

Questions from Fords Farm

Can you cater a reception after a service at St Matthew's?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.

Can you bring your truck or trailer to Calcot Park?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we will send what they need from us.

When do you arrive?

We get there well before service to set up. The length of service is agreed when you book, along with pack-down.

What areas do you cover?

We cover London and the South East, including Reading. See all areas.

Do you cook on site?

Food is cooked to order in our food truck or trailer, or served from a build-your-own taco bar. Fillings are slow-cooked beforehand and finished on site.

Do you give allergen information?

We plan allergen-aware menus, including for nut allergies, and give allergen information for every dish. We keep options separate, but we can’t promise anything is completely allergen-free. If a guest has a severe allergy, please talk to us before the event.

Do you cater for big events?

Truck and trailer service typically suits around 50 to 400 guests. Festivals can be bigger, and smaller parties are quoted case by case.

What do you serve?

Mexican street food and drinks: tacos and build-your-own taco bars, burritos, burrito bowls, nachos and quesadillas, plus salsas, guacamole and toppings. A drinks bar is available too.

Step by step

Serving is quick: guests are served at the hatch or a serving station, so a crowd is looked after quickly. Afterwards we clear our area. Around midsummer it stays light in Fords Farm until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so summer evening events are usually served in daylight. For winter events, when it is dark by about 3:55pm, plan lighting where guests queue and eat.

  1. Start by telling us about your event.
  2. We suggest fillings and extras and send a quote.
  3. Access, the serving spot, power and water are agreed in advance.
  4. We arrive, set up and serve from the hatch.
  5. We pack down after service and leave the area tidy.

Before we arrive

  • Confirm the venue allows outside caterers
  • Measure any gates or arches on the way in
  • Plan a covered area for guests if rain is likely

Space, access and the venue

We’ll agree the spot with you before the day. It needs to meet a few simple requirements:

  • Level, firm ground or hardstanding for the truck or trailer
  • Some distance from houses and neighbours
  • The venue’s or landowner’s permission for a catering vehicle

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think.

Should I do it myself?

A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, with allergen information for every dish.

Doing it yourself? Start with the quantities: see how many tacos per person. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label dishes for guests with allergies.

Perfect for your event in Fords Farm

A food truck gives guests somewhere to gather, and the smell of warm tortillas brings people over.

A truck or trailer works for big and small events alike. Common bookings include:

  • Family celebrations
  • Staff parties and office lunches
  • Engagement and anniversary parties
  • Leaving dos and retirement parties

By rail: the nearest station is Reading Green Park station, about 1.4 miles south-east.

We serve in all 34 towns and villages across Reading, from the larger towns to small villages, wherever the truck or trailer can get in.

A gathering in Calcot Park would need the park owner’s say-so for any catering vehicle, and that is worth sorting out early. How it compares

Sit-down meals need a kitchen, tables and more staff. Our truck or trailer brings its own kitchen, so we need a suitable spot, access and the venue’s permission, with power and water confirmed when you book. When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: service time, staff, plates and napkins, travel and VAT. Our quote sets out what’s included.
