Mexican catering in London

A Mexican food truck at your event in London

We bring Mexican street-food catering to weddings, birthdays, garden parties, offices and festivals across London and the surrounding area. We park our truck or trailer at your venue, warm the tortillas to order and serve your guests tacos, burritos, burrito bowls, nachos and quesadillas, with salsas and guacamole made fresh for the day.

Guests choose their own fillings and toppings, so meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans eat together, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free guests. Add a build-your-own taco bar for a sit-down meal, or a Mexican drinks bar with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas.

Courtyards, car parks, gardens and warehouses

London events happen everywhere from suburban back gardens to office forecourts, warehouse venues, school playgrounds and marquees. A food truck or trailer needs somewhere level to park, access wide and high enough to get in, and the venue’s permission. Streets are narrower and parking is tighter than in most of the South East, so access is the first thing we check. Public parks usually need permission from the council or park authority for catering, so check that early if you’re planning a picnic-style party.

Every part of Greater London is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, central London has the Congestion Charge, and parking or a parking suspension may need arranging for the truck. Tell us about access when you ask for a quote and we’ll include it.

What we cater in London

On the menu

Tacos with fillings such as slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga, beef birria and vegan options; burritos and burrito bowls; loaded nachos; quesadillas; and salsas, guacamole and pickled onions. See the sample menu.

How it works

  1. Tell us about your event. The date, venue or postcode, guest numbers, the kind of event and any dietary needs.
  2. Get a menu and a quote. We suggest a menu, with drinks if you want them, and set out what’s included.
  3. Plan the day. We agree arrival and serving times, and check access, parking, power and water.
  4. We serve your guests. We park up and serve fresh from our truck or trailer, or from a taco bar.
  5. We pack down. When service ends, we clear our area and leave it tidy.

Prices for events in London

We quote every event individually: contact us for a quote. The price depends on guest numbers, the menu, how long we serve, drinks and staff, and travel, parking and access. As a guide, published prices from other Mexican street-food caterers in the South East ranged from about £11 to £45 per head at the time of writing, often with a minimum spend. Read what Mexican catering costs or see how we price.

A taco truck or something else?

Compared with a hog roast or barbecue, Mexican street food is easier for vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free guests, because fillings and tortillas can be kept separate, and food is served to order, so it’s always hot. Compared with a plated meal, it needs no kitchen at the venue and feels more relaxed. It does need access for the truck or trailer, a level spot and the venue’s permission.

Choosing a caterer in London

If you’re comparing caterers or taco caterers in London, these are the questions worth asking any catering company, not just us:

  • What’s your food hygiene rating? Every food business is inspected by the council where it’s registered, and ratings are published on the Food Standards Agency website.
  • Are you insured? Venues and event organisers usually ask caterers for proof of public liability insurance.
  • How do you handle allergies? A caterer must be able to tell you which of the 14 main allergens are in each dish.
  • Can your truck get in? Check gates, archways, drives and ground conditions, and whether power and water are needed.
  • Does my venue allow you? Livery halls, museums, historic buildings and many hotels in London have an approved list of caterers or rules on vehicles, so check with the venue first.
  • What does the quote include? Check serving time, staff, plates and napkins, travel, any minimum spend and VAT, so you can compare like with like.

A Mexican food truck suits London events where you want relaxed, sociable food that guests choose for themselves, rather than a long buffet or a plated menu. Add a drinks bar and you deal with one catering company instead of two.

Planning an event in London

  • Fix the date and venue first. Ask the venue about outside caterers and food trucks before you book anyone.
  • Check access. Measure gates and archways, and think about where the truck can park on firm, level ground.
  • Collect numbers and diets. Add a question about dietary needs and allergies to your invitation or sign-up form, and count children separately.
  • Plan for the weather. Agree somewhere dry for guests to queue and eat, and a back-up spot for the truck if the grass is wet.
  • Share the timings. Tell us when you want to eat, and about any speeches or fixed breaks.

Questions about Mexican catering in London

Do you cover all of London?

Yes. We cover every London borough, inner and outer, as well as the surrounding counties.

Can you park the truck at an office in central London?

Sometimes, if there’s a courtyard, car park or forecourt the truck can reach and the building allows it. If not, a taco bar served from a table can work instead. We’ll check with your facilities team.

How do I choose a caterer in London?

Check their food hygiene rating, insurance and allergen information, confirm your venue allows outside caterers and a food truck, and compare what each quote includes. Then contact us for a quote for your London event.

How much does Mexican catering cost in London?

It depends on guest numbers, the menu, how long we serve, drinks, staff and travel. Contact us for a quote for your event in London. Our cost guide shows typical market prices.

What do you need at the venue?

Level, firm ground or hardstanding for the truck or trailer, access wide and high enough to drive in, and the venue’s permission. Power and water are confirmed with each booking.

Can you cater for every diet?

We offer vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with corn tortillas for gluten-free guests and allergen information for every dish. Tell us about allergies when you book.

How many guests can you cater for?

Truck and trailer service usually suits around 50 to 400 guests. Festivals can be bigger, and smaller parties are quoted case by case. Tell us your numbers.

What if it rains?

The truck serves in the rain, but guests need somewhere covered to queue and eat if possible, and wet grass can stop a vehicle getting in. We’ll agree a plan with you.

Is the food spicy?

We can keep it mild, with hotter salsas on the side for anyone who wants more heat.

Can we add a drinks bar?

Yes. Margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and soft drinks, with bar staff. We’ll check the licensing with you.
