Haydon Hill: venues, access and local tips

Haydon Hill is about 1 mile north-west of Aylesbury, in Buckinghamshire. Events in Haydon Hill are planned around your venue and timings: a quote, a plan and friendly service on the day. Haydon Hill is one of 263 places in Buckinghamshire where we can bring Mexican catering. Our truck and trailer cover the area from Haydon Hill to Milton Keynes (about 15 miles away).

Historic houses near Haydon Hill include Waddesdon Manor (4.1 miles west). Estates and historic houses tend to set their own rules for caterers, so find out what yours allows first. A school such as Thomas Hickman School running a summer fair or fundraiser could book a taco truck. With the Chilterns National Landscape about 7 miles away at most, a rural setting is never far from Haydon Hill. Country lanes there can be narrow and verges soft, so tell us about the route in.

Wherever your event is in HP19 and HP18, we can bring Mexican catering to you. Whether your event is on Gogh Road, Tyson Road and Spruce Road or anywhere nearby, we’ll plan where to park and serve. Close by, we cover events in Quarrendon Estate (1 mile east), Fairford Leys (1 mile south-east), Fleet Marston (1 mile north-west), New Zealand (1 mile east) and Aylesbury (1 mile south-east). Within a short drive, we also cover High Wycombe (14 miles south), Chesham (13 miles south-east), Buckingham (13 miles north-west), Amersham (15 miles south-east), Princes Risborough (7 miles south) and Haddenham (5 miles south-west).

Nearby you’ll also find Royal Buckinghamshire Hospital (1.3 miles east) and Dinton Castle (2.8 miles south-west).

Mexican catering in Haydon Hill, from our food truck or trailer

Every menu is agreed with you, with fillings such as slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga or beef birria, and vegan options like spiced mushrooms or black beans. We serve tacos, loaded nachos and burrito bowls, and it’s a good fit for birthday parties and office lunches and team days.

A place like Haydon Hill may have a hall or a club with a car park nearby; a truck or trailer can work at any of them, with permission and a level spot. We serve from the hatch of our truck or trailer, or from a serving station, and we plan the service around your numbers.

Step by step

It is a relaxed, well-organised set-up. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, set up our truck or trailer, and get on with serving. Evenings in Haydon Hill stay light until about 9:25pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:05pm. For anything running past sunset, think about lights near the hatch.

  1. Share the date, the venue and how many are coming.
  2. Together we plan a menu around your guests’ diets.
  3. We check the route in and where the truck or trailer will stand.
  4. Guests order at the hatch or build their own at the taco bar.
  5. After the last serving, we clear our area.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. Contact us for a quote to compare.

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label dishes for guests with allergies.

Diets, allergies and planning

We take diets and allergies seriously. Help us by following these steps:

  • Plan somewhere covered for guests to eat if it rains
  • Collect dietary needs when guests reply
  • Let us know if a guest is coeliac
  • Include at least one vegan filling

We arrive early enough to set up calmly. All we need is someone to show us the agreed spot.

Ask about extra salsas and toppings for a bigger spread.

Haydon Hill: your questions answered

Do you come to events in the Chilterns National Landscape?

Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. We will follow the site rules.

Can you cater a reception after a service at Fairford Leys Church?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

When do you arrive?

It depends on your event. Timings are agreed in advance to suit your day.

What’s on the menu?

We agree the menu with each client, with fillings such as carnitas, chicken tinga, beef birria or spiced mushrooms. Take a look at the sample menu.

Is the food suitable for children?

Yes. Mild dishes, quesadillas and nachos can be part of the menu. Include children in your numbers.

Can you serve in bad weather?

We serve from the truck or trailer whatever the weather, but guests will need somewhere covered to eat.

What do you need at the venue?

A level, firm spot for the truck or trailer, with access wide and high enough to drive in, plus the venue’s permission. We confirm power and water with you for each booking.

Do you give allergen information?

Yes, and it helps to hear about allergies when you book. Under UK rules, caterers must give information on 14 allergens, and we do that for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). For severe allergies, please talk to us first.
