How our Mexican catering works in New Hinksey

Keep it simple or go further: tacos on their own, or tacos with burritos, nachos and quesadillas. Our Mexican drinks bar can be added too. For retirement and leaving parties and family gatherings and christenings, we can serve burritos, fresh salsas and guacamole and burrito bowls and more.

In and around New Hinksey, gardens and local halls are common choices. If access is tight or the ground is soft, we will plan around it. Timings are planned around your event, whether that is speeches, a lunch break or a festival schedule.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles allergen information for you.

Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Ask us for a quote and compare.

For event organisers in New Hinksey

Events in public spaces, like parks, typically need permission. We’ll provide the information the landowner or council asks for from us.

Booking for a company? Tell us what your finance team needs, and we will talk you through the process. We are happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

New Hinksey questions

Could you serve our guests after a service at Church of St John the Evangelist?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

How far is New Hinksey from central London?

It is about 52 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

Do you do margaritas?

Yes. Our drinks bar can be booked on its own or with food, with alcohol-free options such as aguas frescas. For alcohol, we’ll go through the licensing with you and your venue.

What do you serve?

Mexican street food and drinks: tacos and build-your-own taco bars, burritos, burrito bowls, nachos and quesadillas, plus salsas, guacamole and toppings. We also run a Mexican drinks bar.

What’s on the menu?

We agree the menu with each client, with fillings such as carnitas, chicken tinga, beef birria or spiced mushrooms. Take a look at the sample menu.

How much will it cost?

We quote for each event, depending on numbers, menu, venue and timings. Contact us for a quote.

How long are you on site?

That depends on your event and menu. Timings are agreed in advance to suit your day.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Yes, they’re part of the planning from the start. Tell us your numbers when you ask for a quote.

How it works

We work to your timings. If things run behind, tell us and we’ll adjust the start of service where we can. In New Hinksey, the sun sets at about 9:25pm in late June and about 7:10pm in late September, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting around the truck and the queue.

  1. Send us your date, numbers and venue.
  2. We plan a menu that covers every diet.
  3. We check the route in and where the truck or trailer will stand.
  4. Food is served from the hatch or a taco-bar table.
  5. After the last serving, we clear our area.

Getting ready for the day

  • Confirm the venue allows outside caterers
  • Find out what power and water are available
  • Plan a covered area for guests if rain is likely

Events we cater in New Hinksey

Tacos and burritos go down well with most crowds: familiar, filling and easy to eat wherever guests are.

A truck or trailer works for big and small events alike. Typical bookings include:

  • Office lunches and team days
  • Charity and school events
  • Weddings, day or evening
  • Markets and community events

Guests arriving by train will find that the nearest station is Oxford station, about 1.3 miles north-west.

Questions to ask before booking

  • A clear list of what’s included
  • How each diet is kept separate
  • Space, access, power and water needs
  • Any travel, parking or access charges

Choosing a Mexican caterer

Is Mexican catering right for your event?

Cold buffets are easy, but the food sits out. Tacos and burritos are made to order and served hot. Extras, such as more dishes, extra drinks or a longer service, are quoted on request, so you can choose what you need.

Why us?

  • A menu agreed with you
  • A clear quote
  • Food and drinks from one caterer, if you want both
  • Allergen-aware menus

Take a look at our pricing or the cost guide.

Diets, allergies and planning

We take diets and allergies seriously. Help us by following these steps:

  • Tell us how many children are coming
  • Confirm the venue is happy to have a catering vehicle
  • Confirm allergies by email before the event
  • Let us know if a guest is coeliac

If you’ve chosen a taco bar, the fillings, salsas and toppings go out on a serving table, and guests help themselves.

Quesadillas are a good choice for children and cautious eaters.
