How we price Mexican catering

The price comes down to a few factors:

  • How many staff you need
  • What the venue already provides
  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food
  • The length of service

Extra dishes, drinks and longer service are priced on request, so you choose what goes in.

Getting an accurate quote

You do not need everything decided to ask for a quote, but these help:

  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • What power and water the site has
  • The venue or postcode

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote: venue, timings, menu ideas and access. To send your details, use our quote form.

How our Mexican catering works in Wimbledon

Few things get guests chatting like a build-your-own taco bar. Guests fill their own tortillas from the fillings, salsas and toppings, so nobody ends up with something they don’t want. On the menu are loaded nachos, tacos and burrito bowls, and it is a good fit for summer garden parties and charity and school events.

In Wimbledon, events range from courtyards to hired halls. Let us know where the truck or trailer can stop and about any narrow entrances. Timings are planned around your event, so service starts when you want it.

Should I do it myself?

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles allergen information for you.

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone has to serve all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

Mexican catering around Wimbledon

Wimbledon is about 7 miles south of City of Westminster, in Greater London. For an event in Wimbledon, we can serve in gardens, fields, venues, car parks and courtyards with access in and around Wimbledon. Wimbledon is one of 764 towns and villages in Greater London we cover. We cater right across the region, from Wimbledon to London (7 miles away).

By road, Wimbledon is on or near the A218 and B235, which makes it easy for us to reach with the truck or trailer. Before you pencil in Cannizaro Park, find out who manages it: driving a truck onto parkland and selling food there both need their agreement.

We cater events across SW19, SW20, SW17 and SW18. That could mean an event at a home with a drive on High Street Mews, High Street and Church Road. With the A218 and B235 close by, Wimbledon is simple for us to get to. Close by, we cover events in Crooked Billet (1 mile west), Wimbledon Park (1 mile north), Wimbledon Chase (1 mile south), Copse Hill (1 mile south-west) and Merton Park (1 mile south-east). Further out, we also cater in London (7 miles north-east), City of Westminster (7 miles north), Marylebone (7 miles north-east), Kensington (5 miles north), St Pancras (8 miles north-east) and Shoreditch (9 miles north-east).

Nearby you’ll also find Wimbledon Museum (less than half a mile west) and Southside Wandsworth (2.3 miles north). Open spaces near Wimbledon include Battersea Park Lake and Merton Park Green Walks.

  • Nearby schools include Bishop Gilpin CofE Primary School (under half a mile north-east) and Willington School (under half a mile east)
  • Pubs nearby include Dog & Fox pub (less than half a mile west)

Perfect for your event in Wimbledon

You do not need a kitchen, so gardens, fields and outdoor venues are all possible.

We can help if you are planning any of the following:

  • Office lunches and team days
  • Leaving parties
  • School fairs and fundraisers
  • Festivals, fairs and markets

Guests leaving a church like St. Mark's Church after a christening could walk over to a nearby garden where the tacos are ready.

Questions to ask before booking

  • Allergen information for each dish
  • Whether VAT is included
  • The caterer’s food hygiene rating
  • How many staff are serving, and for how long

Choosing a Mexican caterer

How it compares

Sit-down meals need a kitchen, tables and more staff. Our food truck or trailer brings its own kitchen, and needs a suitable spot, safe access and the venue’s agreement. Got a budget? Let us know, and we will suggest a menu to match. A simple menu can still feel generous.

For planners, venues and organisers

If you are organising for someone else, whether you’re a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we will work directly with you and the venue. It keeps things simple.

For big numbers, we plan service to keep queues short, so everyone is served promptly. Let us know how long the break is.

Planning the serving area

Every venue is different, so we ask about the space before we confirm. Generally, we look for:

  • Some distance from houses and neighbours
  • Space for a taco-bar table if you’ve chosen one
  • Access wide and high enough to drive in, with gates and soft lawns checked first

London streets around Wimbledon can be narrow and busy, and all of Greater London sits inside the ULEZ. Tell us about loading, permits and any parking suspension when you enquire.

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we will advise.

Wimbledon questions

We’re having a ceremony at St. Mark's Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.

Could you serve in Cannizaro Park?

Only with permission from whoever runs the park, often the council. Ask them first, and we’ll help with the information they need from us.

How much is a food truck for an event?

Every event is quoted individually, based on what you actually need. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas for a clear quote.

Can we add a bar?

Our drinks bar can be added to any booking, with bar staff serving margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas. We will go through the licensing with you before the day.

Do you take everything away?

We clear our own area when service is finished. Ask us if you’d like help with anything else.

What’s on the menu?

Every menu is agreed with you, with fillings such as carnitas, chicken tinga, beef birria or spiced mushrooms. Take a look at the sample menu.

Is the food made fresh?

Fillings are slow-cooked in advance, then finished and kept hot on site. Tortillas are warmed on site, and salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

Is there a minimum number of guests?

It depends on the menu and how long service runs, but around 50 to 400 guests is the usual range. Tell us your numbers and we’ll advise.

How it works

A typical event goes like this: we park up and get ready, service opens at the agreed time, and we serve your guests fresh until service ends. Evenings in Wimbledon stay light until about 9:20pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:05pm. Festoon lights or floodlights help once it gets dark.

  1. Send us your date, numbers and venue.
  2. We plan a menu that covers every diet.
  3. We check the route in and where the truck or trailer will stand.
  4. Guests order at the hatch or build their own at the taco bar.
  5. After the last serving, we clear our area.

Getting ready for the day

  • Give us your final numbers and diets
  • Share the running order, including any speeches
  • Give us a contact for the day

Planning help

Planning for every diet

A Mexican menu is easy to plan for mixed diets, because options can be kept separate. A few tips:

  • Ask guests about diets and allergies with your invitations
  • Tell us about coeliac guests, not just gluten-free preferences
  • Make sure the menu has a vegan option
  • Tell us what other food is being served

Rain doesn’t stop us serving from the truck or trailer, but guests will need somewhere covered to eat.

Quesadillas are a good choice for children and cautious eaters, because they’re simple.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
