Wedding Mexican catering near Oxford

How our wedding Mexican catering works in Oxford

Evening food needs to be quick and filling, and tacos or loaded nachos from our food truck or trailer fit the bill without stopping the dancing for long. Popular choices include quesadillas, a taco bar for the wedding breakfast and evening tacos, which works well for barn and farm weddings and civil partnerships and vow renewals.

Wedding receptions in and around Oxford often use a hotel, a hired venue or a family garden. Whichever you choose, we’ll agree access and the serving spot with the venue. We plan the timings around your day, so service starts when you want it.

How we price wedding Mexican catering

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, depending on:

  • Parking and the route in
  • Staff for serving and the bar
  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food
  • How many guests we’re serving

If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we will suggest a menu that fits. Even a simple menu can feel generous.

Getting an accurate quote

The more we know about your wedding, the better we can plan. Please include:

  • The address or venue name
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • A picture of where we’d park

Most quotes start with a few simple details: date, location, guest numbers and diets. To send them, use our quote form.

A closer look at the menu

Taco bar wedding breakfast

The taco bar is the main event, with every diet covered. You choose the fillings with us.

Burrito bowls

Bowls suit guests who’d rather skip the tortilla.

Step by step

Guests tend to gather around the truck, so we will help you choose a spot with room for a queue. Rain doesn’t generally stop us serving, though guests will want somewhere covered to stand or sit. In Oxford, midsummer sunset is about 9:25pm, and by late September it is nearer 7:10pm, so evening tacos are generally served in daylight in high summer. Later in the year, plan lighting: in December it’s dark by about 3:55pm.

  1. Tell us your date, venue and numbers.
  2. We plan the wedding breakfast, evening food or both with you.
  3. We agree timings and access with the venue.
  4. On the day, we set up and serve on cue.
  5. We pack down and leave our area tidy.

Getting ready for the day

  • Confirm the venue allows outside caterers
  • Arrange somewhere covered for guests to eat

DIY taco night or a caterer?

Doing it yourself? Start with the quantities: see how many tacos per person. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label anything containing allergens.

A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles allergen information for you.

Before you choose a spot

No two venues are the same, so we ask about the space when you contact us. Generally, we look for:

  • Access wide and high enough to drive in, with gates and soft lawns checked first
  • A serving spot close to the marquee or reception area
  • Space for guests to queue

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly.

Popular choices

  • Burritos and bowls
  • Nachos to share
  • Evening tacos
  • Taco bar wedding breakfast
  • Margarita bar
  • Guacamole and salsas

Catering for every guest

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Here’s how:

  • Connect us with your coordinator
  • Enquire early for summer Saturdays
  • Count day and evening guests separately
  • Flag any coeliac guests or serious allergies

Allergen information is available for every dish, and dishes are labelled at the serving point.

Tell us if you need plates, cutlery or staff, and we will set it out in the quote.

Working with your venue

Throwing a party at home? Send a photo of the space and tell us about access, and we will let you know if it’s a good fit.

If you’re planning an event on someone’s behalf, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we will work directly with you and the venue. It saves passing messages back and forth.

Comparing your options

If you are weighing up a taco bar against a traditional menu, think about your venue, your guests’ diets and the feel of the day. Catering from a truck or trailer can be a practical alternative to a sit-down meal, as there is no kitchen to hire. Contact us for a quote to compare.

Your questions about wedding Mexican catering in Oxford

Can you bring your truck or trailer to South Park?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we’ll send what they need from us.

How far is Oxford from London?

About 52 miles from central London.

How is the food prepared?

We cook to order in our food truck or trailer kitchen, or serve from a taco bar. Fillings are slow-cooked beforehand and finished on site.

Do you provide drinks?

Yes, we run a Mexican drinks bar, serving margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas such as hibiscus and horchata, and soft drinks. Your venue or event may need the right licence for alcohol, so we will check the licensing with you.

How long are you on site?

We get there well before service to set up. The length of service is agreed when you book.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Of course. Vegetarian and vegan fillings, such as spiced mushrooms or black beans, can be part of the menu, served alongside the meat options.

Where do you cater?

We cater across London and the South East, including Oxfordshire. See all areas.

Who clears up?

Our area is packed away and left tidy. Let us know the venue’s rules on waste and we’ll talk it through.
